Being Mindful of Our God the Whole Day Through

WHAT ABOUT THE BIBLE?

Both the Old Testament as well as the New reveals the One True God, who is reveled to us as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Also, from its pages we read the foundation for our faith and the God who is the inspiration for our daily lives. So let's dive in and immerse ourselves in God's Holy inspired Word. Oh, and let's not forget to remember those in other countries who don't have bibles and find ways to get one in their hands.

Prayer Group Formations
Prayer is so important that in the Gospels alone, it is mentioned several times. Jesus Himself prayed on different occasions even with crying and tears. So if this was the case with Jesus the Son of God, how much more do we need to pray. So let's be diligent in getting together for prayer, not only on Sunday but during the week as well. (Hebrews 5:8)

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BASICS

  • To be totally in love with God and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Luke 10:27)
  • Have faith in God (Mark 11:22)
  • That men ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1)
  • Preach the Gospel (good news) everywhere (Mark 16:15)
  • Believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are available for us today  (Luke 29:49, Mark 16:17-18, 1, Corinthians 12:28)
  • believe that there should be unity among all true believers, here and around the world, and that without walls of division. (John 17:21)
  • To stand on God's Word in every situation. (James 1:22)
  • Not to lean on our own understanding of things or get caught up in our own theology. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Something to Consider While You're Here

Have You ever attended a Home Fellowship
Church Home Groups are an ideal place for us to come together for fellowship. Within these smaller gatherings, we can focus on personal prayer needs as well as for those around the world. Not only that, smaller gatherings encourages group interactions which helps us to be more fruitful in exhorting one another in our walk with Jesus Christ. This is something we can't normally do within a typical traditional church which is running on a schedule time limit. For our God never intended for a church (a gathering of people) to be run like a corporate organization. Try a home group church and see for yourselves. For even our Savior Jesus Christ met in people's homes as well.

Now, does that mean we should abandon all traditional church buildings? Not at all. For even though Jesus met at times in people's homes, he also preached in the local Synagogues as did Paul and Barnabas. For there are many good non-denominational churches out there making their presence known throughout their community. However, I'm greatly opposed to denominational churches because they cause divisions in people's minds and hearts and even cause pride. Paul the apostle called this "carnal" and spoke out against it in 1 Corinthians chapter 1 and 3. Yes, I know that there are many good Christians in denominational churches, but this church labeling causes unwanted divisions, not only within the church body, but in the mind of unbelievers as well. God help us to all see this truth.

The Preacher

Iron Sharpening Iron
As iron sharpens iron, so does encouraging one another helps us to learn and to grow in the Lord. Small Home Church Groups are an ideal place for this to happen because it takes us out of the impersonal and moves us into the personal. This is so true, because if we take a look at scripture, we would find that the early church met mainly in peoples homes, and not in expensive man made church buildings. No denominational walls, no church overhead to pay for, and no large staff that's relying on money from parishioners. It's church the way it was meant to be. (Proverbs 27:17)
